This place is beautiful and has many trails for walks...it's a great place to connect with nature...it also has a trail where you can walk down on and there will be signs of different exercises you can do, I thought that was pretty neat. My favorite spot is the bridge area where there is a little stream of water that goes through there...once you cross over the bridge there will be a little bench that you can sit and watch the stream of water or read...I also notice there are also picnic areas and restrooms....the parking lot is pretty big and makes it comfortable to park and this place is well kept. I would definitely recommend this place for family and friends!

Just love this gem of a county park that was once a local's secret! We love to hike the various paths, while others are out enjoying riding through on their mountain bikes year round. [Just keep your eyes and ears open for the bikes so you can move off trail so they can safely pass.] Yes, I said year round! There is a winter event of skiing, and fat bike racing, as well as a well attended bike race in the summer. Wildlife and wild flowers are throughout the beautiful park, and a meandering creek is there to enjoy, as well. People also picnic and photograph this lovely place. Enjoy your time, here, and stop to smell the wild roses on one of the trails! 😊

This is a nice park, but most certainly geared more towards mountain biking (at least during non winter months). Entrance fee is $5 per day or $30 for an annual pass. There are multiple miles of trails that range from easy to moderate terrain. There are mature trees throughout the park. You can also walk throughout the park, but the paths can be somewhat muddy after rains. Make sure to bring some bug spray as biting bugs will start coming out soon. There are bathrooms available in the parking lot.

Concerning MTBing, I have ridden the trails approximately 1000 times. I used to stop about the 1st week in December but I did ride a few times in the winter before 2013. Don't sell these trails short, they are incredibly great. Many have the luxury of having been created without a bulldozer tool. Hickory Ridge is also great but Lowe's is a far better technical course. Lowe's is probably the main reason I never left Eau Claire yet.

7/14/19 I revisited Hickory and I won't delete what I wrote before but I underestimated Hickory. It's a big place and all the extra rocks and debris make for a...
