Cooks Farm — Attraction in Edgefield

This road side fresh vegetable stand was amazing! The big attraction there was of course some of the best peaches in SC grown right there in their Edgefield farm. There was also a huge variety of homemade fruits, vegetables, jams and jellies that had been canned in jars. They have a little section that sell’s unique gifts old and new that reflect farm life. The staff was incredibly helpful even assisting me with getting my goodies to my car. The service overall was great and everyone was friendly and willing to help. I call this the sweetest little produce place around! Just a five minute drive from my house in the spring and summer to pick up fresh veggies, peaches, and watermelons! I even rented several of their beautiful plants from the greenhouse for a really decent price just for my wedding day back in 2012! Tomatoes, squash, potatoes, onions........all those summer time fresh eatin' veggies that I love right down the road! Always a smiling friendly face, great pricing, and quick service! ...

So I stopped here for strawberries and boiled peanuts. She said the rain the day before about took the strawberries out. I wanted her to keep the basket the berries were in and just put in the box but she insisted not to. Once I got home I realizes why....the berries under the top layer were mushy and had been destroyed from the rain. They made it look like all were good....and as for the peanuts they had been boiled and reboiled and were so soggy you could even eat the shell. So much...
