Racetrack Park — Attraction in Edgerton

This is the park where Edgerton plays its little league games. Imagine if you will a little league franchise in desperate times. The Twins went a full year without winning one game. The franchise needed a new start.

So the next year they rebranded as the Orioles and the lovable group of underdogs managed to pitch, catch, and hit their way to the championship game of the Tobacco Days Tournament. There they faced the powerhouse A's.

Hard fought game goes back and forth until it was the bottom of the ninth, two outs, Orioles down 1 run, and with a runner on third. The Orioles 2nd baseman is up to bat. Here comes the pitch.... and it's a bunt!

The ball rolls down the third base line in fair territory while the runner sprints home for the tying run. The bench is cheering but none of it will matter if the batter is thrown out at first base. The pitcher cleanly fields the bunt and throws it to the first baseman but the throw is too high. The runner takes off towards second base while the right fielder has to scramble for the ball.

By the time he has it the runner has rounded second and is nearing third base and the fielder throws it towards his cutoff but it is a wild throw! Luckily for the A's the ball goes straight to another fielder and as the runner is rounding third he throws it to home to make the third out... but he overthrows it. Game over Orioles win with a walk off bunt!

I give Racetrack Park a five star rating because it is clean, with nice facilities and...

Great new playground area. Severely lacking on parking despite having a large sports complex (parking a mile away on the street is extremely inconvenient for families with small children who are there to watch older siblings play), with several signs warning of parking tickets if you park in the wrong place. Have wished for years that city would properly address...

The parking is a joke now. Whoever redesigned it did a pissed poor job. Would rather it be back how it use to then how it is now. There's only enough room for a single car to drive there's no where near enough parking anymore I would say theres a quarter of the parking now there's not even a place to turn around when you can't find a parking...
