Our third time camping here. A super nice park employee told us that a waterfront nonreservable campsite was available so we took it. Fabulous site, we loved it. This campground has lots of sites with privacy and with forest, field or water views. We do wish the showers could be upgraded a bit but it is a small thing since it's camping after all. Some sites have shelters, all have either a stone fire pit or a ring. Outhouses are plentiful so never too far away. We have a small camper so fit easily in most sites but if you have a large rig you may want to study your options or call the park. No hookups at all. There are two sections of the campground that are tents only. Dump station and potable water taps are available. Lubec is nearby and Eastport is about 28 miles away. There are many beautiful preserves to hike in and Quoddy Head SP with its striped lighthouse is a short drive away.

Such an amazing place to relax and chill out. Not a ton to do around, but if you can get a site on the water it will be worth your effort (reserve as soon as spaces open on a 4 month rolling window.) If you are able to visit Canada, Rossevelt Campebello Park is near or 90 minutes to St. Andrews. about 45 minutes to Cutter Coast for some great hiking. But we really enjoy this park to hang out, and watch the amazing tidal variations of 20+ feet. do try to reserve a site on the water.

We were actually not even planning on stopping here on our way up US1, but the reviews looked interesting. We ended up camping here for a week. Some of the most stunning views we’ve seen almost anywhere. Very quiet peaceful and serene. The only negative I can come up with is there is very little hiking here and access to the water areas is a little challenging. But it’s a great area of the country and you can sit by the shore and watch the water for hours.

This park is GORGEOUS. Great for a day visit or an extended stay. I've been camping here for 20 years, brought my fiance a couple of years ago for our first vacation together, and he loved it so much we got married here last weekend. We brought our friends and families, put them up in one of the group camp sites (very reasonably priced), and rented a day use area by the water for our ceremony.

It was BEAUTIFUL. My mother-in-law doesn't even like camping, and even she said how stunning the location was! The meadow near the day use area where we had our ceremony had over a dozen kinds of wild flowers in bloom, and in the evening, the field literally glittered with thousands of fireflies. Many of our friends said they had never seen so many stars at night. In late July/early August, when we usually visit, that same field is covered in wild blueberries, which are great to take back to your campsite for blueberry pancakes.

Whether for a special occasion, family gathering, camping trip, or a quick day trip, this park is absolutely...

Spectacular campground full of waterfront and water-view sites. Most sites are quite private, and many are walk-in so keep that in mind if carrying heavy camping gear 100-200 feet isn't your idea of a good time. The tide changes are pretty remarkable, especially if you haven't spent much time on the Maine coast.

Numerous latrine houses along the roads, so no campsite is more than a few minutes' from a bathroom. They were clean when I visited, as were the showers in a separate building near the entrance.

Tried our luck at clamming and came up empty - the mud is really tough to walk in. To be fair, we didn't have proper clamming gear - just shovels and buckets.

Bugs weren't too bad in late June, but the mosquitoes got more numerous (and aggressive) on our final day after a rain shower the day before.

Other wildlife besides the mosquitoes - a beautiful luna moth, and a late night visit...
