Almost 5 stars. We've been bringing our son here for the last 3 years (he's 3), and have loved it every year. Each year there's something new to discover, and each year we have a TON of fun. While it is more on the expensive side compared to some of the other pumpkin patches, we think that Walter's is worth the cost (take all day, if you want to stretch your dollar, it's do-able, and worth it). The only reason I marked it down from 5 stars was because this year we tried the food. Terrible. I do not expect gourmet food, I don't even expect McDonald's level food (as far as taste or presentation goes), not only was it over priced (again, in my opinion this is to be expected: $4 for 1 hamburger, $2.50 for 1 plain hotdog, $1.75 for soda (not quite a 20 oz bottle, some 12 oz cans), and $1.50 for a small bag of chips, $2.00 for a frosted cookie, $1.00 for non-frosted cookies (there are more options and varying prices, but those were the prices for the items that were purchased today for my family). The hamburgers are like those at the Sedgwick County Zoo's beastro, kept warm in "hot water" and served up in aluminum foil. The burger was not even warm all the way around the patty, and that's not letting it sit out after opening, that's starting to eat it right away. The bun was too small for the patty, and the meat...well, if you have ever been in the military and have eaten any meat related MRE, that's what you'll be eating again in regards to taste. For the three of us, purchasing that (what I listed, and only 2 drinks instead of 3), the total cost came to just over $21. Do yourselves a favor, either pack a lunch and bring it with you (though you'll have to eat either in your car or just outside Walter's since no other food or drinks are allowed inside; or, take a break for lunch and drive into town and spend some money on McDonald's dollar menu. Otherwise, the patch is delightful, a TON of fun, worth the cost, and a drive. *Also, while sure, it's got a ton of activities for kids, there are plenty of things adults are able to do as well; in fact, I climbed all over everything, and slid down every slide just like my 3 year old. We had...
Read moreA good family activity. Our family has moved around the country a lot because of our jobs and we have visited plenty of pumpkin patches. I was impressed by how clean and organize everything was. Variety of activities a would say for the whole family. It would be nice if the zip line could accommodate weight higher than 150 Lbs. It was a bummer that my husband and my son were not able to enjoy it. Everything is spread through the farm so even though the parking lot was packed, it did not feel so once inside the farm. There is plenty of walking. We even enjoyed some of the apples from the fruit tree, they were delicious. In regard to the food they have an OK variety (if you are not vegetarian and if you like fair food), I notice that the chile was not home made but it was pour from a gallon container and then warmed up. Perhaps adding corn on the cob to the menu would be nice. Also It could be a good idea if the utensils and spices set outside the counter in the food area are kept inside the counter and just pass on to people with their orders. I saw a big family group with children, one of the kid with snot all over his face and hands was playing with all of the utensils getting them out of the box and placing them inside the box over and over agin. All I could hear was the father saying "good job" because the child manage to put all utensils and condiments back in place everytime (GROSS). Most of the people around the farm helping were very helpful and polite and nice; I can not say so from the two older ladies at the gate. Perhaps adding happy pleasant greeters and moving the ladies to the background since they did not seem to enjoy interacting with costumers. And mostly I am giving a 4/5 stars because of the SMOKERS. OMG!!! They seems to be following us everywhere we were . They were in every attraction smoking and puffing right onto peoples faces and around the children activities. I observed them chain smoking and throwing their cigarette butts anywhere (so disrespectful). Wish the farm could be a smoke free environment (inside the buildings and outside...
Read moreBefore starting my rant I want to note that I do understand this is more targeted to children, my fiancée and I decided we wanted to go to the pumpkin patch this year since we couldn't last year and walters was really close so we went hoping to get decent pumpkins for carving and have a little bit of fun while running around, well we showed up and there was already a huge line just to get in but we thought it was whatever we paid the 50 bucks for both of us to get in decided to look around at all the playground attractions and all we could get to in a timely manner was a slide everything else was either really crowded or had kids and teenagers running to get to it before us (mainly the sack swing) then we decided to go look at the pumpkins in the patch and they were all either really small rotted or smashed, all the lines for food were ridiculous and we couldn't even enjoy anything because of all the kids and even adults running to cut us in line so to say the least we were very disappointed with the whole thing
TL;DR we spent 50 bucks to walk around and go...
