Really cool trail! The path gets slightly rocky about half a mile in, my 7 year old struggled a little, but not much. He was definitely able to manage on his own. I will be taking him back for sure. We had so much fun! We did not finish the trail though. We got about half way to Mammoth Rock and it got dark so we turned around. We were walking for about 45 minutes. But remember i also had a 7 year old walking with me, which is why we were moving slowly.

One of the best hiking spots in El Paso. If you take the route I took (got lost) prepare for a bit of rock climbing. Definitely worth it though once you get up.

Google Maps and Google Earth no longer show this Trail correctly because TPWD have closed the trail through the valley because of erosion. The new Trail turns right almost immediately from the parking lot and switch backs up the east slope of the mountain to the West. DO NOT FOLLOW THE TRAIL AS MARKED ON...

Great views and a great hike. The trail is easy until around the mid way point then becomes more difficult with stepper climbs if going to mammoth rock. Just follow the blue spray painted markings for the trail and they lead up to...
