The views were nice as we got further up, but the trails were poorly marked. The map at the base was not detailed enough to know which way to go - we ended up picnicking at some random peak that we found a trail up to. There are lots of trails, which is good, but no signs, so we weren't sure where we were going. Just going by feel really... We found some caves, which were cool, they weren't marked in any way, we just kind of wandered towards them after spotting a trail from the peak we were on.

Didn't find the bomber parts.

No shade - hat and sunglasses are a must.

Poor footing on the vast majority of the trails - they were done with fist-sized rocks that roll around easily underfoot, very easy to twist an ankle if you aren't paying attention to foot placement.

The views and "finds" were cool. The trail markings and map would benefit from some attention and detail. The trails really should be redone in gravel or crushed rock though, you can't enjoy the experience nearly as much as you could otherwise since you have to pay so much attention to your feet to keep from...

This trail is CHALLENGING. In the best way! I never laughed so much on a trail before, it was that enjoyable. It's not marked, so you have to be able to read where people have walked before, or simply go whichever route looks best to you (though that could get dangerous... nvm, don't do that). It starts off easy, and gets increasingly difficult, at times feeling like you're hiking vertically.

Have good shoes on with a tread that keeps you from slipping on smooth rocks which you will need to step on sometimes. Plan to take just as much time going down as going up, speed is not your friend on this hike. There are many trails, but with a good sense of direction, you'll be fine. A pleasant surprise of wild thyme and...

One of the best trails I’ve done in El Paso. My favorite trail to do to catch sunset 🌅 and sunrise if you continue to hike to the top of the mountains. If I got no plans to hike elsewhere, this is my running playground right here. Mostly rocky majority of the way and gets steep at the end of the hike to the bunker spot. Found couple caves on some spots while hiking here 🪨. Even though the end of the thousand step hike is at the bunker house , I continue my way up to explore more or continuing doing the ranger peak as my extra cardio walk/ run. Best to come hour prior to catch sunset here and an hour and a half to catch sunrise from the top of the mountain if you continue you’re way up from that small...

Beautiful view of El Paso. When you're at the top you can enjoy the view of the east, west and downtown parts of El Paso. The trail is difficult if you are out of shape or don't hike often. The trail is also only defined near the base so keep your eyes open for the rock formations that mark the way. If you'd like and the tramway is operating you can take it back down, but it will not take you to the trail head. It takes you down the east end. You can also view airplane wreckage from Ranger Peak.
