Gorget Distilling Co. — Attraction in Elgin

My husband and I went to Gorget for my son's 22nd birthday with his girlfriend and 2 buddies. We messaged ahead of time with David Rumsey, one of the owners, who said we would be meeting with Nikki. They let us bring in charcuterie to set up. We were given a very detailed tour by Nikki who was also the person serving us. My hubby, son, and his buddies all had the 6 sample tasting. Nikki was so knowledgeable about each of the offerings. It was very interesting how they create their products. They followed the tasting with a cocktail, there were quite a few to choose from. Absolutely Outstanding!

I recently visited Gorget Distillery in Lugoff, SC, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable about their craft. The distillery has a great vibe.

Both their whiskey and rum are top-notch. You can really taste the care and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. The whiskey is smooth, with a perfect balance of flavors, and the rum has a wonderful complexity that sets it apart from anything else in the area. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or a rum lover, Gorget has something special for you.

If you're ever in the Lugoff area, this is a must-visit! I’ll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend!

We brought home a small bottle of root beer rum (recommended to add to regular root beer with ice cream for a float; also good with Dr Pepper) as well as a large bottle of salted caramel cream Liquor and a small bottle of pecan praline cream liquor. So darn yummy…drunken French toast, coffee, hot chocolate, cake icing, mixed in cake batter, milkshakes or even straight -those cream Liquors have many possibilities!
