For a large group picnic/cookout, this place is pretty good. There is a large grill for you to use with charcoal as well as many picnic tables inside the covered pavilion area. I have not personally used the boat launch, but it seems to be well maintained and convenient - there's been people here launching their boats every time I've been here. There's a lot of parking so that's a plus too.
My only negative is that the big grassy area with the pavilion unfortunately doesn't really look out...

It's a great little park with a playground, fields, the beach, a dock to offload your boats. A small set of beautiful trails with old gravestones tucked away here and there. And dog friendly. My dogs go nuts as soon as we head in the direction of the park.
The beach is small but has little tucked away private spots. We go here several times a week.

Beach is relatively clean, dog friendly, and a decent place to find shells if you don't feel like trekking to a bigger beach.
