Edit: I should update for anyone who’s not a great driver like myself. So GETTING into this place isn’t easy. Google takes me on a frontage road that puts you into this kinda unsafe turn if it’s closed.. which it usually is. Not fun to do with a frantic chihuahua who can smell we are there. Basically.. I wish there was City signage around to park telling you where to park and stuff. In Oakland and San Jose we had that everywhere. Anyways.. my only issue is the parking aspect. All of it. Even once inside you gotta park right along the road. If you’re unlucky and someone only worried about themselves come in.. you can get boxed in for hours cause the chain in front of the spots forces you to back out.
Please read below though, once you’ve made it in and parked.. this is a cool place. Aways groups of adults doing workouts or couples jogging.. people taking their babies on a stroll.. it’s very nice. My dog loves it, she wants to rub in the grass and pee on everything. I tend to have to carry her to the car cause she doesn’t wanna leave. Our first decade she had a big backyard and has never gotten used to an apartment.. poor little thing. But! We have this park so thank you Elk Grove, it’s very nice and makes my dog and tons of people and kids happy so I’m all for it. Great spot. The beautiful pup in the pictures is Snickers Dog. She’s a pit/chihuahua. Very nervous/Adores nature
This place is huge. I go here every now and then hadn’t been there in years so checked it out. Dog loved it and it was...
Read moreI wanted to share our 4th of July 2025 experience. It was our first time at this park for the 4th after not so good experiences at other parks in Sac. This event was AMAZING and SO WELL organized in the aftermath of everybody leaving the park at once. All the officers and patrol made such a good effort for the flow of traffic, for the people walking to their cars, to the people walking to their homes in the neighborhood. And made their presence known and vigilant at the event the entire night. I felt safe. They did such a great job having the food trucks lined up and all the vendors as well. They even had a vendor set up selling Elk Grove merch and $20 hoodies which was an amazingly kind price and I ended up having to get one because I underestimated the cold weather for the day oops. But the sweater is so warm. I seen so many people wearing them too. So thankful they were there for my daughter and I too get hoodies. They also had a great bathroom/porta potty set up in two areas. They have such a large amount of grass space and no dirt it was soooo nice and plenty of room for us to have our blanket and kids to have room to play and relax. And a huge stage with great entertainment and the drone show was AMAZING and my kids loved it and it was so well thought out and the same for the fireworks! They had soooo many of them. Truly loved it here and we will be back...
Read moreI have been going to this Elk Grove Park for over 50 years. It has nice pond that you can fish in, grassy area, nice picnic areas that you can reserve and lots of beautiful tall mature trees🌲 I don't like the very outdated playground/ structure. I feel parts of it are unsafe especially for smaller kids. For God sake, why hasn't the City of Elk Grove updated their Restrooms!!!! Last January part of a tree fell on one of the bathrooms closest to Elk Grove High school fence. CSD just put a fence around it and "called it good". Elk Grove Park does Not have near enough Bathrooms to start with. The bathrooms that are still "open" are cold, Damp and Dark inside. Simply Disgusting. Last few times I have gone in one of them, their trash, wet soggy toilet paper on the concrete floor. No soap dispenser, or paper towels. Metal sink with a single metal push button to hopefully have a trickle of water come out. I bet that's what prisoners have in their Prison cell oh did I mention the metal toilet with no seat to sit on, not that I...
