Fair Hill State Park is an absolute treasure for hikers and nature lovers. I recently spent a fantastic day here, enjoying the crisp autumn air and stunning scenery. This park perfectly balances well-maintained trails with raw natural beauty. I specifically hiked the Orange Trail, which was a magnificent choice for this time of year. The trail followed the beautiful Big Elk Creek for long stretches, providing picturesque views of the water and the surrounding forest alight with fall foliage. The trail itself was clearly marked and offered a mix of gentle slopes and flat sections, making it accessible for a moderate hike. A major highlight of the park, and a landmark you pass along the trails, is the historic Covered Bridge. It’s a wonderful photo opportunity and adds so much character to the experience. The park’s infrastructure is great, with sturdy footbridges making stream crossings easy and safe. Finally, the staff here are excellent. A park ranger handed me a clear, detailed map upon arrival, which was incredibly helpful for planning my route and ensuring I didn't miss any key sights. Their attention to visitor support made the navigation seamless. If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-supported, and immensely scenic outdoor experience, especially during the autumn season, Fair Hill State Park is a must-visit.

Wow. This park has many trails, well maintained. Look for trails that cut through the grassy areas also. All the trails we went on were wide or wide open. Nothing muddy and it rained a lot lately. Well maintained. If we are in the area again, we will definitely return to explore more. This place is big. We went to the parking lot on Appleton Road and hiked from there.

I want to thank the person(s) that found my lost watch on the orange trail and returned the watch to a park ranger!! My wife purchased the watch for me before I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in 2010. So the watch has a lot of sentimental value to me. A big thanks to park boy John for delivering the watch to my home it was much appreciated!!
