Bunch Park — Attraction in Elkins

Always something new at the White River and a great place to walk . Next to the park is a community center with a beautiful garden all around it. There are name tags on the plants too. You may walk your dog here. There are two bathroom areas. Basketball court. A place to bring tiny tots for slide and swing. Picnic tables with shade. A place to put your kayak in the river too. Fishing is good for bass in the spring time and catfish all year. Please watch for the snake's! Yes this is an area I have seen a cottonmouth hanging above me in a tree and almost stepped on a non poisonous garden snake. Watch for wasps in shelter areas too. Now most of all have a great day and catch some fish...

Place has a walking path, though very little of it shaded. Basketball court, adequately maintained, and tennis court, though the maintenance on that leaves a bit to be desired. Nice access to the river, however it was a little disappointing that there is not a walking trail along it really. It is a good size and the playground area looks like kids would really enjoy themselves. Not the best community park I've seen, but it was worth the 2 mile drive we have to it and I'd go again. Minus the fact that parents like to not watch their kids while they play on the playground and those kids like to throw the mulch around at other kids and onto the slides... This is a great park.

Good playground equipment, easy access to the water and fishing spots. Plenty of parking space. Courts are big and clean. Bathrooms nice and clean. Pavilion for birthday parties and plenty of trash cans. Spacious for all kinds of fun...
