Along the trail you will come to a fallen tree. Climb over it to continue down the trail. You then might come to what looks like a fork where going right takes you to a immediate dead end but going left takes you over the creek to an open area. This is where you want to go. I went once by myself on a Saturday and just had to go again Sunday to bring along the rest of the family. Once you reach the falls, you can climb down to the base if you so desire. I saw some people taking a dip at the base on both of my trips. Just be aware it can get pretty busy - parking at the trail head was totally full on my Sunday...
