Very nice area to explore. The salt crystals are very sharp so please be careful. A lot of deer come through here so you will see a lot of their droppings. Becareful where you step, rattlesnakes have been spotted. *RESTROOMS* BEWARE* not usable!!! They are terrible and disgusting. Spiders and all sorts of bugs took the restroom area over.

Nice trail. I got to see a Javelin and birds. There's a few wildlife in the area. Very peaceful. It was beautiful to see the salt lake. I tried to walk barefoot on the salt, but it was very painful . They are salt crystals, very sharp. Very unique. It's free

This place had so much wildlife present from deer to snakes. We took the shorter back path due to time constraints. We walked about a mile to the La Sal del Rey flat. Beautiful scenery, well worth the stop.

Nice trail. I got to see a Javelin and birds. There's a few wildlife in the area. Very peaceful. It was beautiful to see the salt lake. I tried to walk barefoot on the salt, but it was very painful . They are salt crystals, very sharp. Very unique. It's free

La Sal del Rey was an adventure.. It was a nice site & feeling the salt crystals muchie & hard as rock but jagged. My BF's grandson loves to run. I told him to stop then he fell. It wasn't a good outcome. The salt crystals are hard and some sharp edges, so he took a little slice off his left palm & under the forearm. That ended the...

Trails are fine, but if you plan to explore outside the designated trails, be sure to have good footwear. Beautiful, but rugged area. It was warm in the winter, so it must be horrible in the summer. Take plenty of water and sunscreen.
