The park grounds have been kept nice and clean with no trash lying around. Although it’s that transition time where mosquitoes begin to come out, there were none when I visited the park. It’s hours are 8am to 8:30pm. The park entrance has a large red bridge overtop when you first enter and then has an accessible restroom with parking to the right side. There is a pavilion that is available to rent out for occasions with a set of rock steps that lead up to the red bridge at the entrance. (Be careful as these steps can be awkward at certain parts) you can walk across the bridge to another set of steps that lead to the entrance road. (Be careful as these steps and a bit awkward at point and there is no sidewalk when following the road back into the parking area. There is a small park next to the river that is suitable for children ages 12 and younger. There is seating around the playground and pavilion which enough open area to be able to keep an eye out. Kayaks are able to launch from the banks into the river. (I believe there might be an actual launch for them) The park hosts around five historic bridges dating from the late 1800s and have boardwalks that connect to all of them. A sculpture is located near the back section of the park which has a walking path the goes through a tunnel that’s under the railroad tracks and loops up and around to the park. Overall this park is very neat, clean, and hosts a very nice layout for a quick stop to...
Read moreHistoric Bridge Park was the first park in the nation created specifically to house relocated and restored historic metal truss bridges, and even today it remains one of the largest such parks in the country. There also is a historic stone arch railroad bridge on site as well. All but one of the bridges date to the 1800s. When combined with history of the bridges available online this park might be better described as a living history open air museum. It is a quick drive off of I-94 to visit and only a few minutes from the Firekeepers Casino if you need a break from losing your money or you ran out of money (if you had a bad time at the casino, dont worry this...
Read moreIt is a nice place to go and relax in the summer time. There is a playground to keep your kids occupied and pavilions with picnic tables to eat lunch. Keep in mind the park is very close to I-94, so you hear cars passing on the highway about 100% of the time while you're there. The walking path is relatively brief and nice, but it is really a one hit wonder and I don't see the average person wanting to walk it again just for fun, especially since it ends in a dead end and you have to turn around and walk through and see the same things you just saw the first time through. All in all it is a nice park to chill in when you have...
