I grew up with my family, going to my grandparents several times every summer in the1960's and 70's. We would stay for upto 2 weeks. Grandpa William Meinhard had his house sit right on Glen lake, with Brooks lake, on his property. Grandpa built a bridge across the one end of Brooks Lake to access the land and farther down on Glen lake. He also put in a Canal to take a small canoe or row boat out into Big Glen lake. Read moreVery pretty but I was diappointed I wanted to swim but there are no beaches so we went to Old Settlers picnic area and the water was so low you walked way out and it was only to your knee I don't know where it gets deep enough to swim. The other spot we tried was a beachy area with picnicking it was very shallow as well and there were warning signs that there was high bacteria in the water and not not to swim. Read moreOne of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. Went in mid August and the water was blue and crystal clear. The temperature was a little cool at first but I got used to it quickly as I swam around. We got kayaks at the marina ($35 for 2 hours, which is plenty) and paddled around both sides of the lake.
