Gorgeous!! The only downside is there are many dead fish along Lake Michigan, many of which got stuck in Bar Lake. If you swim in Bar Lake away from the side closest to Lake MI, it won’t be an issue. If you swim in the narrow part of the lake closest to Lake MI though, you may kick up the dead fish and their stink. The water looks clean there— but they are lying on the bottom. This is as of the end of June 2022, so may change pretty quickly. It made for some funny memories though....

This is one of the most unique swimming lakes I've ever been to. It borders Lake Michigan with just the slimmest of sand bars separating the two. The North Bar Lake is 10 degrees warmer than Lake Michigan, and it's as calm as the moon. Lots of visitors had tubes or paddle boards, and it looked perfect.
