The park itself is beyond 5 stars....it's the people that frequent the place that sadly ruin this beautiful place of peace. I am shocked each time i go there which is weekly at the amount of trash laying about, and tossed into the lake itself...and it stays there! Yesterday there was a dirty diaper left on the bench where i sat to feed the geese. There should be a park/rec person that works for the city that goes there weekly to clean up this place...maybe even twice a week. Then you have all the dog walkers that gladly let their dogs poop everywhere and leave it there even though there are doggie bags available and signs posted to please clean up the poop. Then there is the children left unattended. Just yesterday i saw 3 hispanic young boys throwing rocks at the geese and their parents no where to be seen. I stopped them immediately. There needs to be small dumpsters or trash cans posted all along the walk path where poop/bottles/trash can be dropped off. People just toss things everywhere so maybe it would encourage them to put their trash in a can. We can always count on humans to ruin a beautiful place...i wish i had more time to help clean it up over there but i have a career and family too. People need to take pride in places of beauty and nature...it's really a shame. ...
Read moreI love this park but beware of the people playing disc golf, some of them have been very rude towards me and my children for no good reason. There are some of the stone benches in front of the pond where people can sit but they are also right next to an area where people try to throw their disc's. I was walking and it was hot outside and sat down on one of these benches to catch my breath and almost immediately this family walked up after I sat down and the father tried to say they were playing there but he didn't really say it in a way that made it obvious he was talking to me or my kids. Then he walked by and mumbled under his breath " or you can stay in the way that works too". There is no need for this suttle passive aggressiveness at a park. Maybe I just didn't realize you were talking to me? How about having some manners and just saying " I'm sorry I know you just sat down but we have to throw right here." This might not sound like a big deal but this man was...
Read moreLove this park. I was able to visit the park while the seasonal cleaning took place (February). The Park looked amazing. The children’s play area is where I take my kids during the summer and let them cool down at the splash pad and climb on the jungle gym way into the evening. If I could ask for anything more it would be for more water fountains throughout the park. The park closes at around 10pm but path is illuminated by lights going around the path, my only complaint would be there is no use of solar energy, the bathrooms are very small and can get easily out of control during festive months. But overall it’s a nice peaceful place to relax, have a romantic picnic and enjoy the atmosphere. There’s a lake with fish and seasonal birds. There’s also a dog park at...
