I had tres leches but I never had three lakes, so I decided I would consume this hike with the fervor of a hungry fat sitting down to some pie. My oh my shaw is good, the hike I took in this lovely wood. The site, the smell, all was right, and the higher I climbed it felt just right.

Nice trail, however be prepared to climb over many downed trees on this trail. At three lakes camp- Small campsite. Only saw two sites available. Lots of mosquitoes. Water available in a few places on trail.

Beautiful place! Lots of options for hikes… ultimately, you can see one of the falls with a 5 minute hike (no railroad).

The “challenging” part is no joke. My only regret about this hike is the one time I had the drive to handle all the elevation gain and make it six miles to the lakes is I was only doing a day hike and didn’t spend the night out there. This would be perfect for a challenging day and a great night primitive camping. Nothing like a challenging hike to make dinner taste great and guarantee a good...
