Posting key things I had to research to get to this view so others don't have to. We saw a ton of people get turned around from the park entrance because they did not know about timed entry reservations (during peak visitor season like the Summer).
🎟️ $2.00 USD - To get your timed entry ticket, search "Sunrise Corridor entry" click on the NPS.gov link and it will take you to the timed entry booking page. Time slots were in 2-hour increments. We did the 3-5 pm PT and it was perfect.
‼️For us (Summer 2025), slots opened at 7pm the day before...so you have to be ready to book because during the Summer these tickets go quickly.
🎟️ PRICES VARY - You'll also need to buy your park pass (recommend you buy it ahead and save the QR code for speedy pass-through). We spent $30 for the Standard pass which allowed one vehicle.
📍Map to: "White River Entrance to Mt Rainier National Park" I strongly recommend you download an offline map of your destination as signal was sometimes spotty. You will definitely lose signal the higher you go.
📍Map to: "Sunrise Visitor Center" after entering the park, you'll need to drive +30 min uphill.
Things that made our entry a breeze..
âś… Have your two QR codes ready: your timed entry ticket + your park pass (for us total was $32 USD)
‼️ You won't be let in before or after your timed entry slot (2 hour time slot increments), so plan accordingly (we got there early and we + 8 other cars got told to turn around and come back at our slotted period đź¤) We parked at one of the side pull-over areas which there are plenty and waited...

As of last year they are doing a new timed entrance reservation system and if you don’t enter before 7am or after 5pm you will not be allowed entry.
This is ridiculous because instead of just hiring more park Rangers to manage more people that want to enter the gate Just decided to ruin it for everyone and change it to a reservation system that doesn’t allow Same day entry without reservation.
Maybe instead of making more restrictions for people that want to enjoy nature they could use some of the millions of dollars they collect every year in entrance fees, park fees, pass fees, and fee fees to fund some expansion so more people can...

Our fingers were freezing. 🥶 We didn’t expect it to be cold and unbearable. We planned to hike to the peak but that was a fail. We captured what we could before sunset 🌅. No pets allowed on trails. Parking is available at the Lodge. We shall...
