So fair warning when coming here, their are some major potholes before you get to park and lots of sharp looking rocks so be careful with driving. Their is a sign for all the names of the trails but no indication of where they actually are. So it's pretty much a guessing game. No maps indicating where to go. No signs telling you that you're going where you need to go. Random roads, that look like trails but we didn't know. If you don't have an app of Alltrails, I highly suggest getting that otherwise you will get lost like we did. We're used to seeing signs telling you where you need to go next which is why we didn't have the app. We also had some incredibly bad service as well, making it almost practically impossible for us to download that app. People please pick up after your animals. If you pick it up and put it in a doggy bag, you take that with you. You don't leave in randomly in the forest, that's disgusting and shame on you. Loved the fact that they had ropes for those who would struggle to get to the falls. I highly suggest you go in the morning, their are no people. When we were leaving we saw a massive group of people and we were so happy that we got there when we did. Also this is not a stroller friendly hike. We saw some people push a stroller up the trail and no the child wasn't using it. I felt so bad for that dad. Not stroller friendly, I suggest a backpack if you're going to bring...
Β Β Β Read moreI was excited by the prospects of seeing another beautiful waterfall in the PNW but I'm afraid this did not meet my expectations. I enjoyed the trail but the waterfall was a disappointment. The pictures from previous reviews showed a gushing waterfall but sadly that was not the case when I visited. Upon my way back I heard water rushing off to the side and ventured into uncharted territory. I'm glad I did. While the main attraction did not live up to its name, I did find a small waterfall that was simply beautiful. After climbing down the hill barefoot and several tumbles here and there, I was very happy with what I found. This area is kid friendly and the path is pretty straight forward. You can choose the paved road or the trail in the woods. I recommend this hike. Photos are from the hidden falls I found not...
Β Β Β Read moreThere are two dogs that roam the parking lot and trail -- one is very old, skinny, black and tan that is very friendly, the other is a shorter, younger blonde retriever that is a bit more skittish. Both unfortunately don't have collars on, but the owners let them wander for hours along this area so it's difficult to tell if they are abandoned dogs or not. To the owners, please either put collars on your dogs or put up a sign at the park with this information. Or else you'll probably have to go get them at the humane society. There were two couples that already called Bremerton police (Kitsap county doesn't have animal control) and we were the ones who had Ruby in the back of the truck about to take her to the...
