Big Creek Falls — Attraction in Erwin

Wasn't sure if we were in the right place to begin with. We had actually left and went back and explored more and found the waterfall. There is no signage, we found it only because of the waterfall book that we have. It was pretty but you really couldn't get down to the bottom of it unless you bushwhacked your way down a steep embankment with no path. We saw it and we're ok if we don't go back. Big Creek Falls is a beautiful roadside waterfall along US-19W right across the state line from Tennessee. We made a quick stop while driving by. This was a nice place to stretch out during a great ride on highway 19. The road there is paved a has a pulloff spot for a couple of vehicles. The falls can be seen from the road but the best view is at the bottom. The trail dowb is steep, rocky and was sluppery from the rain but manageable. The view was worth the effort.
