It's a great park for most people during the off season for little league baseball. During those times it can be quite packed with no parking available and virtually the entire park is the little leagues during games. Can be frustrating trying to enjoy the peacefulness of the parks natural settings with all the activities..but early mornings during the weekdays is the least crowded and most peaceful with ample hiking and jogging trails and a brand new childrens play ground and apparatuses really modernizing the park..park stays open till after 9:00 pm during the baseball season..However the park maintenance staff is horrible often times the bathrooms are not clean and trash cans still full midweek from the weekend. They train drivers in the back parking lot which is dangerous while people use the park and it create lots of dust and noise. And they are not very helpful with any issues ..by far the worst part of Jesmond dene Park is the maintenance staff..lazy people who milk the system ..on a daily basis. Great park over crowded most evenings and weekends and full bathrooms and snack bar when its baseball season. Very few picnic tables so you'll need to bring your own for a large event..no barbecues provided and limited areas with shade can make it challenging to find a suitable spot unless you get there very early when park opens . But that's even inaccurate cuz they never open the park at the same time everyday..the lazy staff opens at their convenience and sometimes doesn't open till 8 or 8:30 am long after dawn and sometimes it's open at 4:00 am and sometimes 6:00 am depends on whose...
Read moreBig area. It's big enough yo have a party there's a decent amount of grass here. The bathrooms mm their usally clean but it's a little difficult to get toilet paper/to unroll the toilet paper to use it. The button that is used to flush the toilet doesn't work smoothly (from my experience in the men's/boys bathroom. There's a little back area that has a lot of dirt and sand, good for rc cars and there's also a 2 or 3 trails you can walk/run on. There's also a nice playground for the little kids to play in/on. And for the teens this park is big enough to wonder around and hang out. There's little spots where it's not so visible to the rest of the people around. Towards the afternoon/ in the night up on the little hill there's a spot that you can stand at and have a nice view and take pictures for those of you that are interested. And or take/do photography.
All in all I recomend coming here to have a little picnic or to just hang out or possibly bring your children here so they...
Read moreI'd say average. I have a 2 year old and the play ground left me wanting. If you have older kids it appears to have more things suitable for them. There is even 2 baseball fields for little league and a large grassy area. It appeared a lot of people running trails right next to the park so that's a plus. It also had restrooms that were open. Nothing fancy about the restrooms pretty much standard park ones. All in all with playground, baseball fields, large grassy area, and trails (which I did not explore) I'd give it 4 stars....
