This sign welcoming visitors to Estes Park is a breathtaking gateway to one of the most beautiful towns in the Rocky Mountains (the tremendous mountains that tower thousands of feet over this major tourist destination are the main reason why I think this town is stunningly scenic). The view from the Estes Park welcome sign area is majestic, not only giving visitors a view of the town itself, but also of some of the most prominent and magnificent mountains surrounding the town. There are a numerous amount of unique animals that can be seen at this location, such as the steller’s jay, wild turkeys, and a couple of chipmunk species unlike anything I’ve ever seen in the Midwest.

I am very much looking forward to embarking on this grand adventure in the majestic mountains of Colorado, especially Rocky Mountain National Park. I haven’t been to the Rocky Mountains in quite a few years, and I am overjoyed seeing these gargantuan marvels of nature once again. Additionally, I am exploring a new area of this behemoth of a mountain range. Previously, I visited Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks, and some areas in Utah’s mountains as well. I am extremely excited to start exploring Rocky Mountain...

We stopped by just as we entered town and it felt like a warm welcome. The stone sign is simple but elegant, and the surrounding views — blue skies, pine trees, and mountain peaks are pure Colorado magic. Not only is the sign well designed and iconic, but we were also greeted by friendly chipmunks, curious squirrels, and even a few wild turkeys wandering nearby. It felt like something out of a nature movie! The kids were absolutely delighted, and it made our stop even more memorable.

There’s a small area to park safely, and the views are amazing — perfect for that “We made it to the...

The critters at this sign will come right up and eat out of your hand...HOWEVER, we later took an oath as Junior Park Rangers to not feed the animals anywhere. These little stinkers have learned how to lure people. Human food is bad for them to make body fat for the winter so remember you Junior Park Ranger oath. There are berries on the town side of the sign that you can feed them though... probably still not good to interact with them for nature's sake.

The views are amazing on the...
