Clemmer Trailhead is well marked with State Forest signs and access is easy to find off hwy 30, take hwy 64 along Parksville Lake just past Ranger Station you'll see Hwy 30 shortly on your left turn left here proceed 100 yards turn left to parking area you will see the signs. If you're heading to Rainbow Falls follow the signs that say to Falls they Do Not say to (Rainbow Falls). The trail for the most part follows a creek after about 1/2 mile from parking area and you will cross it twice so you might be prepared to get your feet wet. There are actually 3 Falls that make up Rainbow Falls, you will readily see the first 2 lower Falls. At second Falls notice lightly travelled path up around bluff to the left follow it up around bluff and down backside this short scramble over these rocks is well worth your time and effort because the most breathtaking Falls is above the first two. Also this trail is extremely rocky and filled with roots so just be aware. I hope you enjoy these beautiful Falls and take a moment to wade in the cool waters your feet will...
Read moreAwesome hike with several beautiful falls! Starts with a bit of up and down terrain, mostly levels off for a good while, creek crossing, a little more up for a while, then another creek crossing, up some more, and you'll soon arrive at the lower set of falls, which has a beautiful rock face with lots of moss, which wet moss makes for a crazy slippery surface, so wear good hiking shoes with traction, continue up the rocky hill to the left, making your way right as it allows, the trail is faint, but keep your eyes you the right and you should see it, keep going until you hear and see the larger falls in the distance, make your way across the creek again, crossing boulder to boulder until you reach the top of Rainbow Falls! Yes, I know, that's a super run-on, whadda ya gonna do...
Read moreWhat an awesome little trail. Hiked on a Monday and never saw another person. Took about an hour and a half to reach the falls. There are 3 total falls to see. The first 2 are easy to find on the trail and to find the 3rd you must turn left just before the 2nd falls, go up the steep hill beside the rock bluff and the start walking up stream with the creek to your right until you get to the boulders. Once at the boulders just start crossing them until you get to the 3rd falls and pool. The 2nd falls is very narrow and unique. The 3rd falls takes a minute to get to and you need to be decent at climbing up a fairly steep and loose ridge side but when you get to it you will not be disappointed. It’s the largest of the 3 falls and to me felt a lot it like Benton Falls but...
