Hiwassee Valley Farm Wedding and Event Venue — Attraction in Etowah

My granddaughters wedding was here Sunday October 3 2021 It is a beautiful setting to say the least but….turns out they double booked which created a nightmare to say the least! The previous family booked 1 yr in advance the whole weekend Friday, Saturday AND Sunday! My granddaughters Wedding was booked for Sunday! We could not get in to decorate the night before so we were there at 9:00 am (day of the wedding) mind you 11:00 was the designated time for eating, which didn’t happen. We were trying to bring things in as the other family was tearing down from there wedding which they had also reserved all day Sunday! ( Double booked) we ended up having to hustle is an understatement. So while we should have been getting ready dressing, make up etc. we were TRYING to set up everything to prepare for our wedding. After expressing our PANIC to the owner she jumped into gear helping us to get things prepared for our wedding. Keeping the bride away from all the panic and kaos we did not want her stressed on her wedding day. While all of our family scrambling to pull this off we were all drenched in sweat from head to toe and certainly not presentable for our special day and wedding. The empty promises from the owner were never kept. EVERYTHING was delayed because of this! There was such a lack of communication with the owners. The EXCUSE that was given by the owner about the double booking was, “the reservations were made before she took over” Well she could clearly see BEFOREHAND that these weddings were going to crash! But still kept assuring the bride things would be done and ready which NEVER happened beforehand. By some miracle from god it was nice, (not perfect) and for all of our grief we got 50% back of what was paid. Which we figured was fair because the facility was used for the wedding but the grief, anxiety and confusion will always be a reminder of how devastating it was for the family to go through. My husband I got married here in November 2024, we booked this venue a little over a year ahead of time after meeting with the owners and touring the property. From the first time we visited they made us feel like family, like old friends. The process was very easy to book, they took time to answer our questions and explain the process. Hannah was a life saver for me as I was planning our wedding basically on my own, she sent me reminders of things I may need for the day and was very accommodating. She even has a shed with tons of decor from past weddings that you are able to use for your big day.
