I love the efforts they are taking to save the beautiful wolves. The numbers of red wolves is dwindling every year. It's sad people have a misunderstanding of these animals. The endangered wolf center is doing what they can to educate the public and rebuild the population. We went on a rainy day, which I loved and were able to see the grey wolves, painted wolves, maned wolf (just not standing), and fennec foxes. If it is storming with lightning note that they may have to cancel the tour and you'd have to come back another day. At the entrance there is a gate you have to ring the office to let you through. I forgot the name of our tour guide but she had been working there for 4 years and was very good at providing information about the species and the organizations practices. They have a small gift shop where you will begin. They have a portable toilet that you can use by the gift shop. I recommend going somewhere before tou get here to use the restroom. I did see a place to changing station for younger kids where you walk to see the animals. First, you will check in at the gate, then they will direct you to drive about a mile down a partly gravel road to oark just before the gift shop area. Then you will go in the gift shop ams the tour guide will take you on a walk to where the wolves are. You will see whoever is out roaming around in their enclosures, then you will walk back toward the gift shop and to your cars. Wear comfortable shoes! It was a great experience and I highly...
Read moreSo i think i had way different expectations, I totally get that they have no control over if the animals are out but we went yesterday the electric was out(which i understand is out of their control) but we were not able to buy anything at the gift shop, and there was construction on the wolf look out platform and the fennec foxes (which is what we were most looking forward to, my sons favorite), it was closed due to the storm so again out of their control but a quick email warning us would have been nice, 100 dollars for us to go and i think we saw 4 of the animals, our tour guide kept talking about how cool the wolf look out platform is and she wishes we could see it so that just made things worse. 100 dollars is a big deal to our family and we were kind of let down to be honest my son even said "that's all", we were with a family in our tour who drove 2 hours to get there and they didnt think it would be that quick so they were making arrangements to go someplace after because they drove all that way and it didn't take as long as they...
Read moreSeems like a cool place for boy scouts and tours. I had my wedding reception here and many things they promised me had a problem the day of. People threatened me with losing their jobs and they had to ask permission from someone's tío give me the alcohol I was paying for at the end of the night. All I asked for was to have tents up by 1230pm, didn't happen until after 4pm. And I asked for the speaker which allowed a tablet to be hooked up for music. Both things they said were not a problem, but apparently became a problem. Most of my guests left because there was no music until 840pm which had to be played from a car. Finally, after 10pm they found the cord for my tablet to be played... They are friendly people, but when it comes to events they do not have any clue what they are doing. Go during the sunset hour for a tour and hear the wolves howl, its pretty cool. They are doing good things for wildlife and deserve credit in that area. Just don't plan events...
