We visited this farm for the first time for their Fall festival and made it a family event. It was a pretty big farm with various activities for the kids but here are my pros and cons.
Pros:
Various activities for the kids/family like the tractor ride, petting zoo with options to hold and take a photo with a baby kangaroo and feed the animals, donkey and pony rides, gel blaster, archery, playground and large slide (I think I got everything). There is lots of parking and different times to choose for the festival to help to control the crowds to an extent. They had areas to purchase lemonades and alcoholic beverages, doughnuts, food items (not sure of the menu), ice cream and snow cone, coffee, and some other treats at the farm.
The lemonades and doughnuts were pretty good, and the lemonades were decently priced. The cups were a good size, I would say about 16-20 oz, for $7 before taxes. The sugar doughnuts were soft, warm, light and airy and were very good considering they weren't any special flavors. I don't know if they had other flavors available, my sister had went inside and bought them. Lastly, they had lots of areas for photos, which was quite impressive, and benches were various places throughout the farm, plus additional seating was near the lemonade truck, which was full when we checked, and more seating at the back at the playground.
Cons:
Although there were various activities, almost everything was individually priced and although the items seemed reasonably priced, they added up quite quickly. We had purchased our tickets online prior to the event, and I had originally spent about $120 upfront for entrance tickets x 4, the tractor ride x4 and gel blaster x 3. We spent roughly about $20 per person for entry fee.
Parking was abundant and it was helpful having parking attendants; however, the attendants should have been more attentive to the spots that became available as other people left, because we had to park very far, then as we were walking to the entrance, we noticed at least 10 closer parking randomly throughout the parking lot, but the few parking attendants we saw were all in the same area, directing the cars to the far parking lot.
The farm was very big and spacious and all of the kids' activities were at the back of the farm except for the tractor rides, petting zoo and the donkey and pony rides. Due to this, you only see the pumpkins and those few activities upon entering the farm. It would've been great if the activities were more together. Because everything was so far apart, it was a lot of walking, and it can become challenging if you're with little kids and they get tired and want to be held, or if you have any leg issues.
The petting zoo was included in the entrance fee but the cups to feed the animals were $5 each and the cups were small. Donkey and pony rides were $15 and the kids were only able to do 2 laps. Also, I spent $30 for my girls and they both went on the camel ride at the same time. There was also a fee for holding the kangaroo and taking pictures with it but I didn't check the amount.
The tractor ride was okay, but it was very bumpy and there was nothing to see but greenery on the ride. Also, the ride made me and my neice feel dizzy. We were grateful that it wasn't long because we had no idea we would feel that way. It would have been nice if they had a path to follow and had some animals or some scenery for onlookers to make it worth your ride (and money). The children enjoyed the gel blaster but the gun ran out of the gel balls fairly quick. I don't know if they had a refill fee or just a flat fee. The kids tried it once then moved onto archery.
The archery looked interesting but the kids didn't understand how to do it, and we had to ask one of the young men at the booth to show them how to do it. They were very busy so we also had to wait on some of the items. Perhaps they can have more attendants working that booth since it was busy, especially so that they can set participants up and show them what is required prior...
Read moreWow! This place was an incredible experience for the whole family, and a great place to bring the grandkids when they visit.
We visited Amber Brooke when on vacation to visit my parents in Florida. We live in Missouri where u-pick farms are a dime a dozen and we take the kids to them constantly. This farm stands out among all the other farms I have been to in many ways, and I don't know if I will ever be happy going back to a Missouri farm.
Upon arriving the staff members are all easy to spot and exceptionally friendly. I felt like I was being greeted as a part of the family. Right by the entrance there is a little store with all local items from their farm and surrounding areas which was very cool and everything in there was reasonably priced as well.
The farm is very well manicured and laid out so well. Things are spaced out so on crowded days you aren't standing on top of other people, but they aren't so far apart from each other that there is too much walking. There is sitting everywhere throughout which was great for my parents to take breaks, and right by the strawberry fields was a massive pavillion with picnic tables.
The strawberry picking itself was very easy because of the way they had the strawberries neatly packed to the ground. You didn't have to dig through dirt or large bushes to get to great strawberries, we were able to get perfect berries with little effort which was great for my 18 month old.
There are several activities at the farm that I would say are great for ages 12 months to 10 years old. Some things were more appropriate for older or younger kids, but there was such a wide variety it worked well. They even have these awesome giant jumping pads which are like a bounce house without walls. One was for ages 5 and up, and one was for 5 and under which was fantastic because older kids could jump on theirs and have fun without risking hurting a smaller child.
There are food trucks and drinks stands positioned throughout, as well as bathrooms and a baby changing area which I thought was very nice to have!
If you go you HAVE to get a strawberry slush, it is so simple and yet so delish because they use farm fresh strawberries from their farm. I loved seeing how creatively they used all their resources there and made this a very unique and fun experience for our...
Read moreIt is really saddens me to give them 1 star review but I’m hoping to get the attention of the owner or management to hopefully do something about it before they lose more business and customers. Everything in this farm is good EXCEPT racist Ann! Me and my friend went there this Sunday with our 3 years old toddlers! We had so much fun lots of great activities, cute little ride and eventho the price for the strawberries are higher than what anyone can pay at the store it was much worth it! We all had fun till we were getting ready to leave! Right before leaving the farm there was a small cute store we went in and there was an elderly gentleman inside( customer ) getting ready to leave and said oh no one is here I’ve been waiting too and he left! We both thought maybe people need to pay outside where they pay for strawberries! Long story short we both were picking stuff, (jams, wine and seasonings) and our toddlers were also choosing what they want us to purchase for them AS WE ASKED them to do! Then Ann walks in with an attitude and tells my friend’s 3 years old biracial son “you can’t walk with this you need to pay for it” my kid who is white holding also a toy is right there and Ann ignored that! My friend immediately responded “we were going to pay for it we are not finished with shopping! Then again with too much attitude instead of apologizing for abandoning the store and customers like it was our fault for being in the store unsupervised She added “I didn’t know you guys were in here” We ignored her and continued looking around to get more stuff as she again told him “you NEED to pay for this” we told her she needs to stop telling him that and its not right which she responded well he keeps showing it to me and I need to remind him he needs to buy it! What a joke! So yup the farm lost a sale because of Ann and we left with such a bad taste in our mouth!when I was reading the reviews I saw some similar reviews which sadly means these kind of behaviors/treatments are pretty much not been addressed! so if you’d like happy customers who happily spend money, come back and refer you to others please either train and correct your employees how to treat people or don’t put her where she needs to deal...
