I couldn't find the building because there are no signs on the buildings, so had to ask the gate guard for directions. The parking lot is also unlabeled and across the street from the 40-87 building. Yes, signs or maps would've REALLY helped.
I was looking for floor #2 (40-87.2). I walked up a flight of steps, entered the unlabeled building, and wandered around the inside of the building for 15 minutes (no signs, remember?), thinking I was on the 2nd floor. Nope! I saw an escalator up, took it, then wandered around some more, eventually finding the mail room where I noticed that all of the address labels said 1st floor. Huh?!
Ok, found yet another escalator going up (well, the previous one only went up 1 floor), so I took it. Now I finally found what they considered was the 2nd floor...and now I was late.
Oh, and yes, you got the math right and so did I.. 1 stairs + 2 escalators should've put me on the 4th floor, but the genius who designed this building apparently learned math on a different planet, because going up THREE times poor me on what was eventually discovered to be their 2nd floor. (sigh) And no, I had no clue what the floors below the 1st floor are labeled as I already felt like I was stuck in a lost episode of The Twilight Zone, afraid that if I actually figured out their warped mathematical system, I would probably get stuck, wandering around in some Boeing inter-dimensional zone, and never make it...
