We visited at opening on a Saturday morning in Dec 2024. There were already a couple cars in the parking lot. If you arrive before they open, you can hike the boardwalk they have out front. It's not very long and it's pretty easy to traverse. Might be a little more difficult with a wheelchair/stroller because it is older wooden planks. There was soo much wildlife concentrated on this little ditch that ran the length of 41. I stopped counting how many alligators I saw. Tons of birds and fish as well. If you were unlucky and unable to see a alligator anywhere in the everglades, I can't imagine showing up here and NOT seeing a alligator. A ranger came out and talked to us about them. It was very cool. Worth a stop for sure if you're traveling through on 41.

Had a fun time at the Oasis Visitor center. There were a lot of alligators in the water and some also came very close to the fence. There was always a fence or some other protective material to shield you from the gators. Unlike other places in the everglades here there is no risk to get attacked by a gator which I really like. There also was no entrance fee and there was a free to use toilet. All in all there isn't very much to see here but a quick stop is definitely worth coming here.

Have come here several times to take in the wildlife. Plenty of parking and restrooms to use if needed. We have always been able to see plenty of gators at close range when visiting. Enjoy the drive east from Naples and looking for gators on the way. Would recommend coming here if visiting in the area!

❗SAFETY ALERT❗1/11/2024 The boardwalk infont of the visitor center needs serious renovations. The railing is wobbly. It felt like if I leaned to much on it I would fall in the water and get attacked by alligator's. My 2 1/2 year old was walking next to me. While walking on the boardwalk we stopped to look at alligator's. When I looked down over the railing I notice my daughters head pooping out of the railing right next to me. I quickly pulled her back and that's when I realized there was a piece of the railing missing. I was shocked. I'm still worried right now because it could have ended different if my daughter wasn't about 2 feet next to me to pull her back. Safety should be #1 priority for this place and it currently is not based on the condition of the boardwalk. Not going back with my kids until they fix it up. I regret not taking a picture of the missing piece to the railing to post it with this review. Be very careful with your...
