Yesterday I planned a day trip to the Three Rivers / Marcellus area to visit 2 places I’d heard good things about. First stop was Meyer Broadway park in Three Rivers. This is a multipurpose park that includes hiking trails, mountain biking trails, a disc golf course, play area and picnic pavilion it also has a large dog park within the property. At first I was a little confused by the signage and wasn’t sure where the actual hiking trails began versus the mountain biking trails but once I got used to the system the trails were easily followed. there is a decent size paved hiking path/walking path that is handicapped accessible, the rest of the hiking trails are combination of packed dirt and mold fields. There are a lot of rolling hills here so you get a pretty decent work out and the scenery is going to be mostly prairies and forest. This is a dog friendly on leash park. Definitely kid friendly, has bathroom facilities as well as outdoor water faucets available, picnic tables and most other things that you would expect to find in a park. I did a little over 4 miles here and I did not do any of the paved trail/path which could have added more distance if I had...
Read moreThere's so many great things about this park. They have an amazing dog park that is separated by size with huge fenced in areas for dogs to sprint wildly if they want. There's a children's play area/picnic area with a clean and maintained handicap accessible bathroom in that area.
Having needed to maneuver someone in a wheelchair in a bathroom stall before I can confidently say this bathroom will comfortably accommodate most wheelchairs, though oversized chairs may be a tight fit.
There's a nice disc golf course and great trails for biking and hiking. They offer tubing in the winter and there's just so much to do, it's well worth investing $20 for a year pass (not to mention it gets you into the other county parks as well.) Highly...
Read moreCouldn't figure out where the walking/hiking trails we're. Everything I saw was marked for Mountain Bikes. Other than that it has a nice park area.
Update: Went again and figured out where the hiking trails we're. Nice trails but could be marked at the trailhead for first timers to the park and maybe some more signage on the trails themselves so you don't get turned around if you don't have the best sense of direction. Bring a compass, haha. Love these trails though, lot of it is in the woods but you have some open field you also walk through. Will come back again.
If I could make just one recommendation to the park, that would be put up some signs for the hiking trails. Other than that...
