This is JUST a review for the parking lot, lol. Great view, open bathrooms. No exceptional amenities; the toilets don't flush (open tank - same idea as a porta potty but permanent; standard nature park bathrooms) and there are no sinks, and there isn't a visitor's center in the lot or anything.

Be warned: it is VERY windy and chilly (at least in March when I was here), even though it's sunny. I showed up with a sweatshirt, a flannel over shirt, knit gloves, a beanie and boots, and I was still too cold to make the trek to the top. If you have long hair, tie it back as tight as you can or cover it. I tied mine into a loose braid when I got there and the wind quickly shook it mostly loose (again, with a beanie on!!).

Even just hanging out in our car in the parking lot was nice though. Very scenic and peaceful. I will definitely be back during a warmer time of year to try to reach the...

Once in a lifetime experience. Saw the lighthouse at sunset with zero fog. It was AMAZING!!

Highly recommend a visit!!!!!

Dress warm!! Bring a coat, hat, gloves, blanket - whatever you need to protect yourself from the intense wind. Yes it's worth it. The walk from the parking lot is a slow steady upgrade, but doable. The stairs down to the lighthouse were closed, but it was fine. You could still see everything. A few tourists, a couple professional photographers up there, and probably some locals. The walk back is much easier. There are restrooms available in the parking lot. Saw several dogs...

GOOD LUCK. This place is a mess. The lighthouse is very cool but trying to park is certainly one of the rings of hell. If it’s not, Dante would have added one had he been there. People sit in their cars, cars sit waiting, the other cars trying to park back up, people park on the side of the road blocking the road, people go to their cars but don’t leave, cars behind you who have been waiting less time will get a spot behind you. Give up and go to do...

This is well worth the drive to the point. The Francis Drake Highway is in great shape, cutting through coastal grassland, ending at a parking lot with toilets just a short walk from the lighthouse view. I noticed a few surprising wildlife examples on the grounds - a badger snuffling around the lighthouse keeper's cottages and an elk with a full rack taking it easy off in the grass about a mile from the parking lot.

Small compact parking lot around a quarter mile from the visitor center and half mile to the lighthouse. We came on a Sunday afternoon and parking situation was packed. People were parked up and down the road tit he lighthouse. I’d highly recommend a visit to the lighthouse if you’re able (it’s a downhill then uphill wall). It’s very picturesque. If not, the viewpoints off the parking lot are also worst a stop.
