Point Reyes National Seashore is a real Bay Area gem. Beautiful hiking trails, overnight camping available. Planning a backpacking/camping trip to Point Reyes be PREPARED! The weather conditions can vary drastically all in one day. Expect very strong winds, wet fog, cold temperatures. Be sure to bring warm layers, down jacket, rain jacket AND rain pants. You do not want to get wet and cold in these conditions, There are very few fresh water sources on Point Reyes. Bear Valley Visitors Center offers a free filtered water station. The 313 steps stairs down to the Point Reyes Lighthouse was closed during our visit, but the views are more than enough! This place is perfect for nature lovers and history lovers as well. Wildlife is visible up close and personal. A piece of paradise on earth! One full day was not enough for me, as there are plenty of hikes, trails, beaches and natural beauty this place has to offer. Aside from the Point Reyes Lighthouse, we also visited Cypress Tree Tunnel, Drakes Beach, Chimney Rock Trail, historic ranches, just to name a few! Absolutely stunning! Super natural!
