This is an absolutely wonderful place. We stayed in a modern cabin, which was tip top as far as cabins go (spacious and very comfortable). The park is filled with friendly staff, from the DNR to the boat rental operations. You will catch fish. However, we found that the lake lacked keeper size fish, and not just for us but everyone we saw. That “big fish” was hard to come by, which seemed to be a common complaint. But catching and releasing was still so much fun. There is practically no cell service And 0 WiFi connections, even when using data, so you really do get to experience the state park with no distractions. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars was for the fishing, but I would say more like 4.5 stars. It is a beautiful park with great people maintaining the property throughout. We will definitely...

We stayed here over the first weekend of February. The cabins are new and really nice. Heated floors and also Friedrich heating/cooling units in the bedrooms and the vaulted ceilinged kitchen/living room. The thermostats for the heated floors are locked, so they can't be adjusted, but the other units have remote controls for adjusting the comfort level. The kitchens have a full size stove, microwave, and refrigerator. LED lighting throughout. The bathrooms are large with a full tub/shower. They provide cups, plates, bowls, and coffeepot. Each cabin has a deck off the back. There's also a fire pit and grill at each cabin. For safety, there are smoke/CO detectors and at least one fire extinguisher...

Wow!!! I was totally blown away by this park! It was so much more than anything that I dared to imagine! A stunningly beautiful lake, a paved multi-use trail that hugs a significant stretch of the shoreline and also allows you to explore a good portion of the park (with occasional information / reader boards), picnic shelters, benches, and a camping area that offers both cabins (of multiple sizes) as well as sites for individuals who bring their own form of shelter. I, unfortunately, didn’t arrive until later in the evening, so my first visit was relatively short, but this is one park that I definitely hope to return to when I’m able to spend more time checking out...

It is a beautiful park. The trails are well maintained. There are lots of trails to chhose from. I like the trail most which is on NorthEast side of lake. It's more than 2 miles long, but we never get bored of the scenary and most of the times we can stay on the side of the lake. Mostly I have been there in the morning, it's so peaceful and lively with different birds singing and chirping. The lake is also clean and big. Beach and playgrounds are not that big but are clean. The restroom seem to be repaired recently and is decent. Attaching some of the beautiful snaps of the park.

We love Lake Darling! It's only about 15 min from our house so we frequently go on random nice days. It's usually not over packed with people & as long as the water quality is good we spend a few hours there. Fair warning, they recently cut the trees on the beach down so there's no shade unless you reserve the little shelter. There are also no trash-cans so be prepared to haul your trash out. They have paddle boats, kayaks, & paddle boards available at the boat house which is sweet. All in all, we love our local lake & so does our 3 yr old!
