Having been to the Temple of the Sun and Temple of the Moon in Mexico, the thing is this a testament to the land's indigenous people. It could be better preserved but regardless it is a ancient wonder. Further the holes that would align with the sunrise and sunset to mark the progress of the calendar. Worth seeing if you honor history. Not commercialized like mexico with its tons of Aztec shops, so bring you snacks sit and contemplate.

We stopped here after visiting the Cahokia Mounds, and it was the perfect addition to the trip. Woodhenge was built by the Mississippians around 1100 AD as a solar calendar to track the seasons. Standing here really makes you appreciate the history and how advanced this ancient city was. So glad I finally made it—another bucket list stop complete! This is a free attraction. #bucketlist

Wow, this place is really powerful. It was like the energy was flowing to the center, creating a transformative experience. I saw people going to the center and just allowing themselves to experience the place. The alignment to the solstices connects it with other powerful henges

If you like history or sun alignment or native American experiences then this is a 5 star experience... The average person might enjoy the site for exercise or the view from the top of this "man maid mound" that was created long ago pre-written historical people of the Americas. This is a sacred place to many people locally and in Mayan regions with similar architecture (i.e. central America)

I hope you enjoy it as...
