A great Summer Afternoon getaway. Even at peak times there always seems to be room on the beach to lay out a blanket for your family. We had a lovely time every time we have been up there. The water is not very deep and is very good for young swimmers. Parents do need to be ready to supervise their children as there is no lifeguard on duty. If children are a little bit too much of City Slickers they may have a problem with a seaweed in the lake but other than the natural seaweed it is a very clean lake for swimming.
One advantage or disadvantage to paint on your viewpoint is that there is no cell service up in this area. It is a great opportunity to be able to be unplugged in with your family.
The only downside is that the snack bar is pretty mediocre. They do have plenty of Snack Bar like options. Prices are not outrageous but portion sizes are small. My wife and I joked that we think they're ice cream scoop is more of a melon baller than an ice cream scoop when you're choosing between a single or a double. We usually bring our own food which is very easy to do. Many others have said good things about stopping at the Red Rock corner store to grab sandwiches when they're almost there.
