The lake one entry point is very nice. There is plenty of parking and a good place to unload your canoe and gear. The paddle through the channel out to the lake is very nice and the scenery is beautiful. There is an awesome campsite on an island at 47.921124, -91.492839, you have the whole island one of the best campsite views...

Nice stay at Kawishiwi Lodge on Lake One the night before entering BWCA. Four beautiful days of canoeing, portaging, camping and swimming.

Mid September is a bit late for a swim that far north, but we took a dip or a dive each day...
