Very rustic, and may be one that we try again in the winter. We attempted the Willis River trail starting at the hanging bridge. Just a note, the bridge no longer exists (although still on park map). Also, the trail is not well maintained. We turned back very quickly due to how overgrown it was. The blazes are highly visible, but the trail itself was completely choked off by vegetation. Not something I would recommend taking the family to for a casual hike, unless you manage to catch it right after the trail has been groomed.

The Willis River Trail is a great place for a winter hike. It's not a loop so you either have yo hike out and back or go with a buddy and have then oark their vehicle at the other end. If there is snow then bring Yaktrax or some other form of traction assistance.

Rode the Cumberland Multi-use Trail. Seemed to have the place to myself. Enjoyed a nice backpack picnic. Trail was in pretty good shape, and I plan to try some other routes in the near future. My purchase of the forest use permit was well worth it.

Cumberland State Forrest Great trails for hiking & trail riding. Bear Creek State Park Very well kept. Nice camping spots & cabins to rent. Picnic areas, beach spot on the lake. There are boats to rent as well as a snack shack @ the lake. Plenty of hiking trails & the park offers scheduled activities during...
