I have always loved Eden Mill. My boys and I volunteer as much as we can. They accommodate our cub scouts service projects. We have planted trees, cleared invasive plants and prepped gardens. You can learn to forage for edibles and read a story to your little one on the interactive story walk. It's really geared toward getting people off the couch and into nature. The programs are amazing and there really is something for everyone, from gardening to painting to photography. I just started the canoe training offered to volunteers for the sunrise and sunset canoe trips. Mike is a great instructor and I learned so much. I'm already looking for my own canoe. I knew nothing about how to canoe and now I'm confident that I would know how to handle any situation, emergency or otherwise. It's a truly hands on experience. So get involved with Eden Mill if you haven't already. It's a place close to my heart and my boys just love it. The staff and other volunteer are incredible. It's our...
Read moreEden Mill is one of our golden retriever's favorite places, the moment we turn onto Fawn Grove Rd he starts pacing and crying/barking, vocalizing his excitement, eagerly anticipating the swimming that's about to go down. We usually park at the small parking area at the end of the road where the bridge is being reconstructed then walk down the path to the water. Our golden loves leaping off the concrete stair at the bottom of the path then we take a short hike down the trail so he can dry off. There are several different trails you can hike and a lot of weekends they have "ranger encounters" where a ranger teaches you about the local wildlife, flora & fauna. The nature center has different animals and displays inside and there's also a working beehive and beautiful garden where you can observe the birds & butterflies and they have a pavilion with picnic tables. If you enjoy kayaking, this is the place for you, they have a couple of areas where you can launch and cruise Deer Creek at...
Read moreWe love Eden mill. One of the best places I've ever taken my children to go swim and rock hunting. We take rocks from all over the places we've visited and we put them in our garden or we paint them and put them out for other ppl to find and keep. It's a cool, neat, and fun thing to do with ur kids especially at Eden mill. I myself have went rock hunting and I have found some amazing looking rocks. Rocks are unique and it's just somethings about rocks are interesting to me. When my kids get older and grow up I want them to remember us doing fun things together and I know now Eden mill will be a place my kids never forget and hopefully they'll be able to do things with children of their own...
