Diamond Point is a stunning overlook in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve. It offers panoramic views of the New River Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the United States. The hike to Diamond Point is relatively easy, making it a great option for families and people of all fitness levels.

The trail to Diamond Point begins at the Fern Creek Trailhead. The trail is well-marked and easy to follow. The first part of the trail winds through a forest of rhododendron and hardwood trees. After about a mile, the trail emerges from the forest and you will be treated to your first glimpse of the New River Gorge. The views only get better as you continue along the trail.

The final leg of the hike is a steep climb to the top of Diamond Point. The views from the top are simply breathtaking. You can see for miles in every direction. The New River Gorge Bridge is visible in the distance, and you can often see whitewater rafters and kayakers on the...

Diamond point was amazing for the views and trails. Trails were not extremely difficult to navigate. All posted signs were easy to follow and were accurate. I recommend wearing comfortable hiking boots or shoes that are water resistant in the least. The views are the most amazing views I have seen in a long time. Looking out over the new river was spectacular. Right across the river you can just make out one of the long abandoned buildings of the Kamoor mines. I highly recommend visiting this trail also to see how nature has reclaimed what was once hers. I had come at the right time to see men repelling from the point which was a very interesting show and may spark a new...

One of the best views in the New River Gorge area and hands down best place to watch the sunset in New River Gorge. I always bring a hammock and kick back and chill amazing views. Extremely dangerous Cliff edges don't bring your dog here even though you can don't do it East Cliff edges are 800 to a thousand feet tall with loose Rocky sand edges that are extremely slippery and very dangerous to an animal that is not used to walking in these conditions. You can die on this Trail if you are not paying attention. Always watch where you are walking do not walk with your phone in your hand taking selfies that's how most people fall off cliff edges safety is number one selfies...

Are you visiting Americas newest National Park this summer? Read below 👇 #ad I only had 1 day to spend in New River Gorge National Park. So I picked out some of the best trails to see. 1. Long Point Trail (3 miles) A walk through the forest will lead you to an epic viewpoint of the bridge. You can also book a tour to walk below the bridge. They will harness you in so that you can’t fall off. 2. Diamond Point Overlook via Endless Wall Trail (2.4 miles) This hike will lead you to a spot where you can view the endless wall. We were able to watch the rock climbers making their way up. If you climb, this is known as one of the best places on the east coast for it! 3. Castle Rock Trail (1.1 miles) Along this route you will follow a rock wall and see several different viewpoints of the grandview overlook. I like to call it the horseshoe bend of the east! A great hotel that is close to the park and hiking trails is the @bestwestern in Beckley, WV. They provide you with a full breakfast, pool, and gym! #bestwestern

I can see why they call this state “Almost Heaven”. West Virginia has everything you could ask for including some of the best rock climbing on the east coast, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, skiing, and last but not least, America’s newest National Park! New River Gorge is an adventurers paradise. I spent all day hiking different trails in the park. Some of my favorites include: 📍Long Point Trail 📍Diamond Point Overlook via Endless Wall Trail 📍Castle Rock Trail The weather was perfect for hiking and I only needed a light pullover. As always, I wore a jacket from my favorite brand @stio They have the best hiking clothes and are always so vibrant. Use the link in my bio to check them out and SAVE 20% with code BIANCA 💕 #lettheoutsidein #stioaffiliate #wvoutdoors #wvhikes #wvmountains

One of the best hikes in the park. The way from the Fern Creek parking area is probably the easier and short of the two ways to this overlook. The Nuttall side is slightly longer and has more elevation changes. Either though leads you to this awesome overlook of the Gorge and River. Little advise, please to not throw anything over the overlook. No matter how small. These areas are used by rock climbers and you never know when someone could be climbing up. Throwing something over has the potential to cause them injuries or worse.
