Kanawha Falls is a beautiful, relaxing place with some excellent views. Unfortunately, many of the views have become overgrown like so many of our state parks. There are several overgrown trees blocking the view from the parking lots, and brush has grown up in between the trees, making it difficult or impossible to get to many of the views anymore.
I really wish our state would invest the money into the upkeep of some of the incredible views and overlooks our state has to offer. Unfortunately Kanawha Falls is becoming part of that list of previously amazing places that are becoming sub-par due to lack of upkeep and maintenance. It's still worth visiting, especially if it's on your way of you're traveling to Hawks Nest or the New River Gorge Bridge, but it's hard to tell how long it will be if it doesn't receive that much-needed...

The shore line is littered with trash and broken glass. If you follow the tracks back you will come to what I called a glass graveyard. Broken glass littered the rocks all throughout.
