Entry fee is $1 per vehicle during the week, and $2 per vehicle on the weekends. There is a vehicle gate about a quarter mile before the entrance, so if you arrive too early, you'll have to wait for an employee to open up. In my experience, they tend to open about 15 minutes early.
Although there are multiple parking areas, they fill up quickly during the summer months, and on weekends throughout the year. It's best to arrive as early as possible for that reason, as well as making for an easier hike during the hot months.
There are multiple restrooms, and covered picnic areas. The trails are well marked and well kept. There are many blind corners, and bicyclists abound, so please ensure your pets are leashed. Keep your ears open for bikes and rattlesnakes.
Much of the trail system lacks shade until you get further into the hills. Be cautious about afternoon hikes in the summer, and please ensure you and your pets have plenty of water.
