I have always loved the outdoors, and when I am the furthest distance OUT of the doors (of the city) is when I am the most at peace. I drive in from Minneapolis suburbs. I drive through Crystal Falls and keep going another 15-20 miles into the wilderness where the forest is as thick as a rainforest. There are not many places to stay there. I rent a cabin my Dad took me to for decades a week at a time. I stay right near the reservoir with Iron Mountain dominating the sky above the dense treeline. I let my boat drift as I lay back staring at the continual blanket of 1000 x more stars then I ever see and listen to the wild animals howl in the night. It is so quiet with no cars anywhere nearby that the animal sounds carry clear across the lake. Shooting stars are one after the other, so your first time bring a long list of wishes. Out there I have no bills, doctor's appointments, work (unless cleaning fish is work?), I forget what stress is. It is like heaven...I just...
