This is one of the most scenic VT State Parks in the Champlain Valley. Its located a few miles off the main highway and the entrance is a longer narrow dirt road. The facilities are clean and its my understanding the buildings are available for rent for events etc. You can swim off the pier and kayaks are available. The water in the bay is generally calm for easy kayaking and you can see lots of boats in the lake. There is a nature trail in the woods with plenty of openings with ledges offering awesome views of both the lake and the NY shoreline. The lake is at a fairly narrow point in this area relative to the rest of the lake. The 1-2 mile trail can be a little tricky to navigate in certain spots but overall its not too difficult, and you have a few trail options. Parking is plentiful and the open lawn area is always very well maintained. There are grills available for cookouts or picnics and a few picnic tables are available throughout the grounds. Kingsland Bay State Park is located close to Mt Philo as well so you could visit both places within...

It's a bit pricey ($5 per person, NOT vehicle) but fine for just us. There wasn't a place to ride bikes except on the road with cars and there's no sandy beach area. Can't...
