I primarily visit with my son, who loves the wooden playground here.
The playground area has multiple slides & ways to climb up and down. There is a mid-height fence and only one way in/out of the playground area; this is a nice feature if you have a kid that runs! There are swings for babes and regular swings, a tire swing, balance challenges/bridges, and lots of different equipment that a variety of ages can engage with. Parts of the playground are old and could use renewed. For example, half the bells on a xylophone style piece are missing, the gravel in the tot dig area needs refilled, the mats on some equipment is worn and frayed in spots. The bulk of the equipment works and is standard for a public park. The paintings look like they've been maintained. The ground substrate around the playground area is a wooden mulch.
There are at least two restrooms in the park (one near the baseball fields & one up closer to the amphitheater), but they aren't always open. Water fountain outside of the playground area. Paved place for walking.
The park has multiple baseball fields, a batting cage, pavilions, and trails. The dirt trails are not well maintained and don't seem to be used frequently. (Which is a shame!!!) There is a fitness trail that has a series of different physical challenges along the path, but many of the stages are missing parts/prompts.
The local community utilizes the park and the amitheater quite a lot! The WA library has held story time walks, girl scouts and boy scouts have used the park for programs & meetings, there is a festival here each summer, and the drive-through holiday light show is also held here.
I did have to stop visiting what was once my go-to "peaceful spot" within the park in summer 2021, because a semi-permanent garbage bin was placed across from my favorite pavilion. It stunk so badly I stopped walking that loop & using the pavilion. It was along a hill, using the path involved taking deeper breaths going up hill....right past that bin. The bits of the park that aren't ignored are normally lovely, the dumpster was not...
Read moreThe Clinton Lights have become a family tradition for us. Such a nice way to spend a few minutes on a winter evening around Christmas time. Our kids love it, and so do we. Thank you to all the people who make the light show possible, including the admission crew...always so friendly! The park itself is beautiful, our kids love the playground and the picnic area is perfect. We've been to a couple craft shows out here as...
Read moreThis light show is great every year. Great place to bring the young ones to see all the lights and displays they put on. Didn't seem to busy when we were there. But everyone drives at a good pace and there are plenty of places you can pull over if you want to take some more time looking around. We have gone here several different years and it hasn't...
