This is great place to stop over for a night or two, but to call it a campground might be stretching it a bit. A cross between rustic and modern maybe? It does have water spigots to fill water cans etc but not on the camp sites. It has 60 campsites split between the family side and the horse side. Less than half have electrical pedestals. The dump station is at the HQ a mile or two down the road. The dump station does not have potable water. The site description for site length on the website is just wrong, so check with the ranger. There does not appear to be showers out here. That all being said it's beautiful out here. It's quiet and secluded with lots of trails. Easy on and off the highway,, the campground entrance is a mile or two east on TR218 from the park entrance. The sites are gravel and level. So dump your waste tanks and fill your water tanks...

We camped in the equestrian side and being amongst horses was a fun twist for us humans. Took a couple of nice hikes, entertained family and met some great people. The hosts are fabulous. In the center of family campground, there is tetherball, corn hole and a play area. Volleyball is set up by check in. There is also ax throwing, disc golf and archery in the section of the park with the dump station. Directions to the dump station are exit campground and go left. Take a left at stop sign. Follow signs and take a right into park. Go past ax throwing and disc golf and follow road along perimeter of private campgrounds, which is on the right. The dump station is on left before the private campgrounds swimming pool. Dump station has water to rinse out black tank. Oh, I almost forgot! The campgrounds only sells bags of ice and wood. There...

I guess four stars because the place was clean the cabin was fine nothing wrong with it except it was so hot and we didn't know there was no swimming until we got there I mean what's a lake with no swimming. They don't have showers but we knew that going in. It's Equestrian Park which sounds great until you get there and everything smells like you're at the zoo. But they did play a kids movie on Saturday night which was really nice cuz it gave the kids something to do for a little while. But other than that there's not much going on at this park. The rates were good and if the weather was a little cooler we might have enjoyed it a little more and been able to use the walking pass. Not their fault it was so hot so not five stars but 4 because I think it...

A beautiful place in the fall. Came here to mtn bike. Has pretty good trails. The one closest to lake (yellow blaze) is trickier than you'd think. Lots of steeps with roots and some impossible turns to hit the wood bridge. Like, you have to stop and walk it to the bridge. Impossible angle. Also, it's confusing making you think you can loop around the lake. The trail doesn't continue UNLESS you hope to walk your bike across the dam (don't!) or risk your life climbing the rocks to the train bridge (which you find out on the other side is private property). So, a nice place, but just know you have to stick to the trails on south side of lake.

Rustic. Friendly. Clean. We were fortunate enough to be there on the weekend when one of the Allen Co. 4-H horse clubs was there for a weekend outing with all of their ponies! How cool was that??? The campground is detached from the park where the pond/lake, archery range, playground, picnic area, disc golf course, and dump station is. No shower. Pit-pots. Minimal cell coverage.
