Compared to other birding sites, this one is the shortest walk. It felt more like a lookout than a true nature walk with the added fun of being able to go birding. It was beautiful though and was well maintained. The only thing I really disliked was that although a Discover Pass is required, I saw 3 cars without them and no one was really around to check. The money that's made from the passes goes into maintaining all of the parks that require them so I really think honesty is the best policy in this case and people should do their part to support the parks and purchase the yearly pass opposed to sneaking around because someone isn't always...

Fir Island Farms Reserve Unit Fir Island Farms Reserve Unit is a 200-acre nature preserve found on Fir Island in the Skagit River Delta. Managed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, it offers a variety of habitats, including tidal marsh, channels, and mudflats. The reserve is home to bald eagles, snow geese, trumpeter swans, herons, harriers, greater yellowlegs, and salmon. Beautiful place to spend a couple of hours watching wildlife during a weekday. There is a lot of activity all around you if you let nature do all the talking. To access the reserve, visitors must have a Washington State...

Great little spot to watch wildlife. Incredibly short walking trails, but numerous benches. You need a Discover Pass to park here. A portion of the short trail is paved. There is a porta-potty available for use as of 8/14/22. On a clear day you can see both Kulshan (Mt. Baker) and Tahoma...

This is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy the sunset. If you are bird watcher, then don’t forget it. It’s next to the estuary in Skagit, you will see snow geese return to the water after sunset every year from October to April next year.
