You'll also find Recreational Delights, like a canoe launch, fishing spots, picnic shelters, and playgrounds.

Read moreWe go kayaking from this location, and there is a good ramp on the south east side of the park by Fall Creek. There is a second ramp but it’s much smaller and far more dangerous for kayakers that is on the southwest side of the park by the creek. I don’t recommend using that one, but the first one that I mentioned is really good. You can paddle either way, east or west, but paddling east you will have to traverse the remnants of an old low head dam, which are considered to be dangerous. However, we paddle through it all the time. I’m sure you’ve got a life vest on, and paddle at your own risk in that area. It’s very very beautiful in this location and we kayak your dozens of times over the summer. Bathrooms in the park can be a little suspect, which is unusual for fishers and Hamilton County....

The wood covered bridge is ~96% complete and when done, Geist (with good parking) will be a great place to stop and do a group picnic or walk & fish along the river. But also to tag on into the major trail system in the SW...
