A lot of great reviews here but this was not our experience yesterday (12/10/22). This was one of 5 wineries another retired couple and ourselves visited during the day. Our experience here was shockingly bad and would not even give it one star. We walked in as another small group was leaving at about 4pm. There was only one other guy in the place with the live duo performing. There were a couple guys sitting on the couches as we entered who very much appeared to be employees (not drinking anything), but not sure. There were two female workers walking about with one of them at the bar. No one acknowledged our presence. We sat ourselves at a high-top table covered with crumbs. The duo was performing. We sat for a least 10 minutes and no one came over or acknowledged us. I finally walked to the bar and was asked what we wanted. No info, no asking if we had been there before (we had not), no offer of a drink/wine/food menu. So I ordered 4 wassails. They did bring them to our table and the quality was poor - weak with nothing of any note or character. We finished our drinks and left with no acknowledgment or "thanks for visiting" (the place was still virtually void of customers). Will not be back given the many fine alternatives we enjoyed that day. Not sure what these folks are thinking, but customer service was apparently at the bottom of...
Read moreThis is a must visit spot if you are in Asheville. Recently opened, but growing vines for the past 7 years, this winery is amazing. Primarily the people. Ken and Angela have built a team that are kind and wonderful. We visited with a large group of 28 people for a corporate event. Our attendees couldn't stop talking about our time here.
I recommend you do the hike and sip tour in which you walk the vineyard and taste the wine made from the grapes in each section. It's about an hour experience, but entertaining and educational.
The land has been in their family for over 200 years, and the views are spatacular. But so are the wines. Most vineyards in the area are getting grapes from California, not here. They have no California grapes in their wine. Their estate wines are all grown on the property, and the quality is apparent.
We also catered in lunch in the tasting pavillion. What I also loved was they are not pretentious. They serve beers, colas and other beverages so everyone can be happy, even the non-wine drinkers.
We felt like family, and will most certainly visit again when we return...
Read moreBeautiful stunning winery hidden in the valley of the mountains among Hendersonville. My fiancé and I brought our pup here and did the hike and sip and had the most amazing experience. I called in advance to ensure dogs were allowed, and when I was told yes, well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed, I cancelled the dog sitter and brought her along with us for the hike. The owner, ken, delighted us with a selection of his favorite wines for the vineyard. He curated our hike and explained the long history of the land his family had passed down to him, and his journey into becoming a wine maker. The atmosphere of the bar, the beautiful scenery surrounded you, and the friendliness of the staff had me planning my next visit before we left. If you’re wondering whether or not you should stop by, the answer is YES! And bring your pup as everyone is a dog lover here. Thank you to ken and all of his staff for making us feel more than welcomed. We look forward to seeing y’all...
