My post said I went on a Tuesday. If anyone has an agenda, it's Boone. Companies should instill in their Team members to treat everyone the same and put aside personal feelings ( in my opinion). If Smoking Barbeque (very friendly place) had not referred us to you, we never would have come. Again, was ignored, and will Never come back or recommended your business. There is Nothing in this for us!!!!!! DO BETTER AND BE BETTER NEXT TIME
Went to Boone Distillery with my husband Tuesday after receiving great reviews from Smoking -This N That Bar B Que. What a SAD SAD DISAPPOINTMENT. In a time where businesses are struggling to stay open, it's a shame the backwards attitudes that shines through and slaps people of color in their face by those who refuse to embrace each other.
There were 3 other people (whites) who came through the door in front of us. They were greeted and assisted by the white girl and guy behind the counter. My husband and I continued to browse until they completed their transaction. I then went to the counter and waited for the two people behind tge counter to finish their conservation with each other. The young lady walked away and the guy looked around as if I was invisible. As a person of color, he couldn't help but see me. I went to my husband and voiced I was ready to leave. There was no way I would support a company that see white only. Bad enough I drove 27 miles out of my way to see what they had to offer.
To those thinking about going to Boone Distillery located at 10601 Toebben Dr, Independence, KY 41051 don't do it.
People will not change bad behaviors until we stop rewarding them by not doing business with them. I kept my money in my pocket and am not going back. Getting in my car, back on the road and heading home.
The only advice I have for Boone is if you want to be better, do better. Ask ALL your customers if they need assistance and at the least, just say hi. ...
Read moreNestled back in an industrial park you will find an out of place little building with a covered front porch lined with wooden rockers. This is Boone County Distilling. A small gift shop with a fair amount of beautiful glassware, super soft shirts and lots of whiskey, fronts the distilling operation. This is a small distillery. You won't be walking a couple of miles to explore their expansive grounds. But what you will get here is an amazing tour guide that will walk you through some amazing stories regarding the history behind the name Boone County Distilling. Our tour Jamie was engaging, knowledgeable, funny and thoroughly steeped in the history she presented. I can tell you the minute we walked in we were greeted and treated like friends. We had a good 5 to 10 minute conversation with Jamie and Anthony before the tour ever started. They have also added on a bar and events center though it was reserved for a bridal shower this day, so we couldn't check it out much. Location, friendly employees, great whiskeys make this place...
